What are you waiting for?

What are you waiting for?

There must be many thousands of people, up and down the country, who would like to move, but haven’t… there’s something making them hesitate. What could this be?

The truth is I don’t know the answer to this question. I can only imagine that it’s possibly connected with Brexit; not that this makes any sense. I have neither read or heard of anything which suggested that Brexit will have any significant negative effect on property values.

But the fact remains that in the past 12 months the number of properties being put on the market has dropped by 30 – 40%. What are people afraid of? Are they waiting for a sudden increase in prices?  I can state categorically that this is not going to happen. UK property values have just about levelled out now, after many years of significant growth. Prices have now plateaued and will probably stay static, at least for a while.

My message to all those people who would like to move is this… ‘There’s No Time Like The Present.’

So Take Courage… select an estate agent you can trust, get your property valued and get ready for the viewings that will inevitably come as the Spring weather arrives.

Remember why it is that you want to move home.

Perhaps, to do away with such a large garden or, to move to a smaller home, now that the family has grown up and left home.

You have nothing to lose but everything to gain by putting your toe in the water. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.  Three months from now you could be enjoying your new home, and kicking yourself for the delay in taking the plunge. Never mind… enjoy the present and forget about the past.
